Alexandra Sunberg, MA

Alexandra Sunberg comes from a crisis response background with over ten years of experience in refugee response and humanitarian aid. In the past she has built strong networks with other nonprofits, civil services, and non-governmental organizations; coordinated over a hundred volunteers; managed international relief logistics; and engaged local communities to be able to quickly respond to needs otherwise overlooked.

Her expertise lies in using qualitative research and storytelling services to help communities organize and better themselves. Her work focuses on finding the resonance where the foundations of change can be laid, using the words and experiences of people directly affected who are most often left out of the conversation. She has been involved in projects organizing listening circles in Harlem, as well as youth deflection initiatives in the New York capital region.

She has collaborated with the World Freedom Network, Integrated Refugee and Immigration Services, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, and Immigrant Connection, among others.

She graduated with a masters degree in Conflict Transformation and Social Justice from Queen’s University Belfast.
