Robert Dey Expertise: Drug and Crime Prevention Full Biography: Robert Dey retired from federal law enforcement following a 32 year career with the Drug Enforcement Administration. During his career he served in several locations including an assignment at DEA headquarters where he directed DEA's Demand Reduction Program. In that assignment, he initiated drug and crime prevention programs for community and governmental leaders, organized training for educators and administrators in drug prevention and represented DEA on Capitol Hill as a member of the Office of Congressional Affairs. While assigned to the Houston Field Division, Mr. Dey was appointed to an advisory committee of the Texas Education Agency to write guidelines for a comprehensive drug prevention curriculum for all grade levels. He was the co-founder of Houston’ Drug-Free Business Initiative and a member of the Bay Area Council on Drugs and Alcohol.

Since his retirement, Mr. Dey has been a contract trainer for the Transportation Security Agency, a contract investigator for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Bureau of Customs and Border Patrol. He has also been a consultant to the National Crime Prevention Council in addition to his present affiliation with Strategic Applications International. After returning to Texas, Mr. Dey was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to chair the SIG State Advisory Committee to oversee drug prevention spending.
